Classy Kids Cook was founded in 2006 by Tessy Medley in Cary, North Carolina. Tessy’s lifelong dream has been to use her gifts and talents to teach children about their own worth and uniqueness. In her own words, “I have always sought to instill in children a strong sense of self esteem by affirming and encouraging them.” Before starting the school Tessy had a successful career in finance, but her real passion was her volunteer work with children in ministry and mission programs. Tessy began hosting tea parties and small cooking events out of her home for children in the community, and eventually she left her “day job” to pursue developing Classy Kids Cook into the business it is today. In 2010, Classy Kids Cook became a franchise when Danielle Ettefagh purchased the Cary location. Tessy and her husband, Mitch, have since moved to the Washington D.C. area where they founded the second Classy Kids Cook location. Classy Kids Cook has grown and evolved since its small beginnings in Tessy’s home kitchen, but the mission of our company has stayed true to the founder’s vision. At Classy Kids Cook we strive to instill a positive self image in our students both by empowering them with important life skills and by valuing each child as a special and unique individual.
